Just Report Abuse, That Will Shut Women Up

The Transgender Law Center has noticed that some Transgender people get overwrought when making comments on articles, blogs, and other places on the Internet.

I am guessing they’ve noticed things like Transgender people threatening to rape and kill Women and Feminists.

Here, from the Transgender Law Center, are the 7 Tips: Responding to Transphobia Online!

1. Do not comment when you are angry or heated.

2. Do not engage in “flame wars” or arguments.

3. Respond to general themes in the thread.

4. Be compassionate.

5. Use evidence for added strength.

6. Stay positive, and give messages of support to youth who may be reading the comments.

7. In extreme cases, report or flag transphobic comments to the social network or news outlet for removal.

#7 is always a winner.

Oh, here are the comments that got me banned.

Apparently, supporting Gay People and Women is an “extreme case” that justifies being banned from commenting.

Apparently, Women knowing Transwomen are Men – and stating this publicly – is not permitted.

Hello, Orwell.

#5. Really? Trying to be #4 and not piss my chair laughing. There is no #5 in ‘trans theory’ just as there is no #5 for the Tooth Fairy.

Goodness Cathy, the bullshit you have to deal with… I admire you for keeping it up!
And yeah sure, all we want to do when we radfems get together is plot to attack trans women. LOL. They really can’t imagine what else women would be talking about when we get together. It HAS to be about them, right? Sounds so typically male.

  3. Wow, Cathy, was your presentation really about attacking (physically assaulting) trans women? Somehow I always think of that as something men do, not short lesbians (not being pejorative but from the pride video, you are not that tall). I mean, sounds risky to me. What if they fight back? They are almost certainly bigger and stronger and some are even mixed martial artists!

Or do they mean the “attack” of “misgendering”, which so clearly deserves physical attack or at least intimidation and threats in return? (See also: pride video)

Btw I can’t believe I let a bus driver misgender me recently. Should’ve given him the what-for at the very least. I mean, I am biologically female with long hair and a large rack. If I can get called a man because of one winter coat, misgendering can’t be that rare. And yet somehow those of us who are not trans suck it up.

    1. No, my presentation is here: http://bugbrennan.com/2012/08/03/the-trouble-with-transgender-presentation-at-radfem-reboot/

I am 5’6″, I am not that tall, and I have never assaulted anyone in my life, nor would I, nor would I advocate it, because I don’t want to live in that world. So, yes, misgendering a man is an attack now, as is stating that a man is a man.

      1. I was being facetious. I know you never advocated attacking anyone. 🙂

      2. LOL. I know. But I have learned that many people ARE DUMB and do not have the intelligence to understand your dry wit.
