Trans Feminism: Yes, Vagina, We Don’t Give a Shit About You!

Because this is such crap.

Why Do Lesbians Not See How the Political Transgender Community Does Not Care About Female Reality?

I did this very fast, but the edits are both what Serano is actually saying and my notes (which are in bold and/or italics for the most part)

  1. […] more… 722 more words #1 Pretendbian REALLY hates females. Why do Lesbians allow heterosexual Males to tell them what's what? Tags: debunking serano, Julia Serano, […]

  2. I like this, “cissexism… can be seen anytime someone disagrees with a transgender person”.

  3. What I don’t understand from the article’s comments is the eagerness of libfems to accept Serano’s “intersectionality” jazz hook, line and sinker. Transactivists like Serano seem to think intersectionality means that trans women are entitled to anything they demand from women. Just because someone announces that their group is the most oppressed ever doesn’t mean it’s true. Even if a group is treated badly, as trans people often are (usually by men) doesn’t mean they deserve to have their way all the time with another oppressed group.

Also, Serano and other white trans women appropriate the experiences of women of color, the intersexed, and other groups just to use them as cudgels to beat feminists with. It’s extremely insulting to those groups, and some of us call them on it, but we get shouted down as “transphobes” and “radscum.”

Are liberal feminists so frightened of being called a transphobe that they’re willing to defer to trans women on every single issue? It sure looks that way.

I thought this post from the Gay Not Queer Tumblr was interesting:

A lot of people are noticing that there’s something very wrong with many trans women, especially the 80% who are non-op, most of whom are just deluded transvestites.

Unfortunately, most women are too afraid to speak out. I’ve never seen another group rise to “must not be questioned, ever” status as quickly as trans, but then maybe I’m out of the loop.

Why do you consistently refer to Juia Serano as “he”?

      1. Sorry. On revisiting this post of yours, I realize that it was the article you linked to that referred to Julia Serano as “he” throughout.

I could not find an author for that post, in fact.

(Pardon any confusion. I am not sure why WordPress is insisting on using the name of a blog that I never really got off the ground.)
